A style of art bringing new life to sentimental belonging

Contemplative (re)Purposing is an empathetic mode of visual art committed to incorporating into each piece the valuable--& yet often overlooked--thoughts, feelings, persons, and materials; giving to these assets--& therefore myself and those participating--the time and attention necessary for transformation. C(r)P is a therapeutic art and alternative style of keepsake-ing that strives to use ninety+ percent reused, recycled, and neglected materials for the construction of each piece, with a large percentage of the reused materials being a persons’ intentionally contributed mementos, ephemera, and written contemplations.

Examples of items to transform

  • Birthday cards from years passed
  • Inherited tapestries, textiles, trinkets
  • Ticket stubs from that first concert or movie together
  • Last year's planner
  • Journals and Diaries
  • Children's art projects or report cards
  • Written out thoughts, feelings
  • You bring the items, and I'm willing to get creative!
